WOODOO, announces the completion of the façade of the eco-responsible MixCity building in Renens.

Renens, September 25, 2025 – The MixCity project is preparing to open its doors with a façade unlike any other. The building was developed by the Vaud-based construction company Alpenda, designed by Lausanne-based architecture firm Atelier Simplon, and financed by Arab Bank Real Estate. The façade of the 11,700 m² mixed-use building (logistics, workshop, offices, retail, leisure) was built with an entirely new material : STACK™ augmented wood. Developed and manufactured by WOODOO, STACK™ is a high-performance, cost-efficient and decarbonized alternative to conventional materials—in this case, aluminum façade cladding. Unlike traditional wood, which weathers and fades under UV exposure and humidity, STACK™ offers exceptional durability, drastically reducing maintenance efforts and costs throughout the building’s lifecycle.

With this pioneering choice, MixCity positions itself as a forward-looking project that integrates this new low-carbon material at scale. The building will be inaugurated at the end of the year.

BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION AND WOODOO SCALE UP A NEW LOW-CARBON MATERIAL

At VivaTech 2025, WOODOO and Bouygues Construction announced a strategic partnership to industrialize STACK™, an innovative material made from fast-growing wood. As performant as reinforced concrete but far more sustainable, STACK™ will be used in 10,000 m³ of projects, including data centers — marking a major step forward toward more environmentally friendly construction.
